Moved to Leduc for Zytech Lumber. Night shifts outside in -30 to -40 winters. Learned quickly that hard work means nothing if the people above you believe your work permit gives them power over you. It doesn't. It just taught me faster.

Moved into an office role reviewing construction truss plans for Edmonton and nearby areas. Contributed heavily, got underpaid, then unpaid. Someone decided my residency status was leverage. It wasn't the last time someone tried that move.

Got my Class 1. Drove gravel trucks in Edmonton, then USA long-haul when work slowed. Money improved. The pattern repeated anyway. Trusted the road more than I trusted most people at that point.

Found a company I actually respected. Hauled Canadian Tire containers and CN/CP rail freight. Built a reputation for over-delivering. First time in Canada where I felt like I was building something, not just surviving.

During COVID, drove Canada Post freight to Yellowknife twice a week. Fort Providence. Behchoko. Six days on the highway. No signal for hours. -40 winters. Roads that teach the kind of discipline no course can sell you.

Bought my own Freightliner. $3,500 monthly payment. For the first time in Canada, I wasn't building someone else's future. I was betting on myself with real money. That truck was the first thing I truly owned here.

I spoke up for stranded truckers during the Coutts–Montana blockade. The video went viral. Rachel Notley shared it. CBC interviewed me live. First time I understood that one honest message, sent at the right moment, could reach further than a year of work. I filed that lesson away. Three years later it became the whole business.

After roughly one year, sold the semi for more than $65K profit. Market timing was right. Truck was maintained well. One of the best financial decisions of my life.

A trusted friend convinced me into a furniture store partnership. I invested $30K cash, borrowed $40K more, renovated the store, gave months of unpaid labour. Came back from my wedding in Punjab and the story had changed. Business failed. Friendship failed. $90K in debt.

Annual income around $16K gross. A few years earlier I was making $18K a month with my truck. Nearly $90K in debt. Most people disappeared. My wife didn't. She stood beside me, helped me rebuild, and believed when there was nothing to gain from believing.

Joined mentorship and committed completely. No backup plan. First Shopify sale came February 2, 2024. Tested 40+ products between February and July while carrying debt, maxing credit cards, and refusing to stop.

While questioning ecommerce, I studied real estate and passed Alberta Real Estate Fundamentals on the first attempt. The stable path was open. I looked at it and chose ecommerce instead. Some decisions define you.

Forty-plus tests. Maxed cards. Months of “this isn’t working.” Then one product finally moved — around $20K before Meta capped how far I could scale it. The $20K wasn’t the win. The proof was. After a year betting on a model everyone told me to quit, I finally had evidence the machine worked. Everything after this was just volume.

The very next product crossed $100K+. Back-to-back winners do something to your head: momentum stops being luck and starts being identity. I wasn’t “trying ecommerce” anymore. I was an operator who’d found the pattern — and now I knew how to run it again.

Opened a store for my wife. Her first product became a winner. After everything she stood through with me, helping her build her own income meant more than most of my own wins.

Crossed $2M+ in ecommerce revenue. Paid off the $90K debt. Paid off my car. Bought land in Punjab for my parents. Their house is now being built on it. The comeback became tangible.
